HOW HAS YOGA CHANGED YOUR LIFE?

Personally, yoga has brought so much grounding to my life. I tend to live life (as we all do!) at a million miles a minute and can get caught up trying to do everything at once. I’m a pretty energetic, bubbly type of girl so for me yoga keeps me cantered and ensures I take time to slow down and check in with my mind and body to the ‘real me’.

No matter where I am in the world I can step on my mat, breathe, move and listen to my body. Really tuning in to what’s going on inside. Yoga also brings me so much joy, both in my teaching and practice. It’s incredible what yoga can bring to someone’s life on a more spiritual level. Tuning out the distractions, we see that in this moment, there is nothing we need do but just be.

WHICH TYPE OF YOGA IS BEST FOR ANXIETY OR STRESS?

Essentially all yoga practices connect the breath and mind as one. Meditation and pranayama (breathing) exercises are hugely beneficial for calming the nervous system and balancing stress levels. Yin or Restorative practices are especially calming and nourishing in times of stress and anxiety.

WHICH IS THE BEST TIME OF DAY TO PERFORM YOGA AND WHY?

The best time of day to practice yoga is the time that works for you! I love practicing in the morning, because I love the energy it sets me up with for the day. Likewise, a relaxing slower flow or yoga nidra is the perfect tool before going to bed. It has to work with your schedule and how your energy levels are.
