Our pure habotai silk scarves are plant dyed and layered with reclaimed temple-blessed offerings of husks, herbs, fruits and celebratory marigolds. Finished with zardozi motif (gold wire thread), each piece comes in a beautiful organdie pouch, making it a meaningful gift that's imbued with the passion, devotion and stories that are part of its creation.
The stunning Shimla Sunset scarf uses marigolds and ceremonial coconut husks to dye the pure silk; these hard coconut shells are traditionally broken in blessing rituals to symbolise the shattering of the ego, inviting the intention to let go of illusions and claim our divine, fearless nature.
The beautiful Bombay Rain scarf is predominately dyed using pomegranate – a symbol of eternal life, fertility, beauty and power. The marigolds represent passion, creativity and joy and our intention with this silk scarf is to invite living with an abundant, love filled heart.
Worshippers arrive at India’s Siddhi Vinayak temple carrying heartfelt wishes and offerings of fragrant flowers. Once blessed, these flowers adorn the temple for a moment in time before being placed in the river to make space for fresh offerings. This project has been created in collaboration with a fair trade, socially conscious non-profit that teaches, employs and empowers locals to gather and craft used blooms into truly unique pieces to cherish for all time.
Once printed, our pure silk is crafted into beautiful scarves and hair accessories by an Ahmedabad based institute that gives physically challenged women a sense of belonging and pride in their abilities. In this way we spread beauty in more ways than one, because life’s gifts are for sharing and we are all connected.
This beautiful, light weight silk accessory can be worn in many ways and complements any outfit. Wear as a headscarf, around the neck, as a top or around the waist.
Preserve the beauty of your scarf by folding flat and storing in the pure muslin pouch provided.
100% pure habotai silk - made in India using natural plant dyes.
Our handcrafted scarves are 90 x 90cm.
Cherish and care for your gift by handwashing in cold water, with a mild natural detergent. Line dry and iron on a low setting or alternatively dry clean.
As with all things in nature, the botanical dyes will fade over time, but this is to be appreciated.
